This is the park closest to my home, yet I rarely shoot here. I shoot far more JUSA than AYSO, but I’d love to catch fire with these parents and get asked out to more games next season. I was here for my pal Jacob - my super neighbor was also here pulling Ref Duty. It just happened to be “Referee Appreciation Day” and he gave me a couple cookies from the overflow and an ice cold Gatorade from his referee cooler. AND as if I wasn’t feeling comfortable enough, I realized I hadn’t seen the Blue Lightning Banner printed yet, which I designed for Jacob’s dad months before. The game ended on a free kick from about mid field that impossibly floated just over the Shark goalie’s outstretched arms to give the victory to the Blue Lightning.
