This one was “off duty”. My son was helping out the shorthanded BU09 Canyon United team for the weekend, and I always love shooting him. It was the first time to really see him in action at this level, excluding the Sand “Jungle Ball” Soccer Tournament last month. He held his own and fit in well with the boys. I had my family and a few friends sitting with me as we watched, so I pretty much shot the games from my chair under an EZ-UP tent, about 10 yards past the goal line. The distance cost me a lot of shots as the further stuff was often out of focus. I got some pretty good ones of all our boys, and a few of a couple kids on other teams that I know. I just know I could have done a much better job if I was in Sloppy Mode instead of Dad Mode. We had fun and we actually won the thing despite believing we were gonna get clobbered. Our family group took to the beach after the final game for sandwiches and a quick dip in the ocean. (Sorry, no photos.)
